This merely proves the lawyer is interested in defending his own butt, not justice…

Why have Americans so thoroughly conflated national “security” with pro-torture? It makes me so ashamed to be American.

If we say people are not responsible, then what is to prevent future politicians from doing the same thing only worse? Are we not a nation of laws and restraint?

“Following orders” was an excuse used by Eichmann- it does not speak to the illogic of using torture and then trying to claim some moral, or ANY high ground.

This lawyer would rather defend the torturers and think his country the safer. It’s a shame. For this lawyer, all a politician has to do is make a law saying torture is okay, then it is a matter of national defense. Where does it end? Oh, denailing doesn’t offer any SERIOUS harm, but we can uncover potential terrorism? Please…it is never okay, despite what the lawyers say.
