And, I once dumped a guy because he ate Miracle Whip and JIF peanut butter.

I'm all, "Clearly this is a love that can not be."

Hellmann's used to make a flavor called "Just2Good" mayo. (It was the only brand of reduced fat I would eat.) And, it was awesome.

Your yuck mayo, it apparently the re-imagining of my beloved Just2Good.

Hellmann's claims it's the "same great flavor," but they lie! LIE!

Craft Free Mayo is the best. All the other low fat versions suck. I have been able to convert even the most die hard mayo fans to Craft Free.

But I agree, sometimes it's better to use the bad stuff sparingly than to try acquiring a taste for the "good" stuff.

I'm with Dick on this. I eat all real stuff, just monitor the amount. Real mayo, butter, sugar... no imitation stuff for me.

I still remember a few years ago when I had a contract with a company in Dallas. My boss was into all these low-fat/no-fat products. She brought in a big box of no-fat fig newtons. I tried one and told her if I wanted to eat sawdust I would at least get good sawdust. That stuff was so dry and tasteless I wondered why bother.

I had a doctor friend who told me I could eat anything I wanted; I just needed to use discretion on the amount. I use very little sugar (a 1 lb box will last me a year) so I don't bother with sugar substitutes. I just cut down on the quantities. Besides the difference between a tbsp of butter and a tbsp of margarine is not a whole lot and if you only use a tbsp then knock yourself out and have the good stuff. Why eat something that just tastes terrible just to fill the craving. Eat something good and ration the amount. Better for you in the long run. The other thing is just about the time we get all told what is good to eat we find that they lied to us any way.

Man, for me, it's gotta be Best Foods Real Mayo. Everything else is just an imitation.

And don't even go near me with a bottle of Miracle Whip, unless you want to be wearing the contents.

General rules of thumb:

1 Low-Fat = Low taste, No Fat = No taste

2 Diet is just "die" with a "t" added.

Note to self: Does living in NJ have anything to do with this strange delusion?
