Verizon Schmerizon. (Updated) (Update No. 2)

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 9:53 pm

Yesterday was “Toyota Schmoyota.” Unless Verizon gets its shit together, tomorrow will be “Verizon Schmerizon.”

Suffice it to say that Verizon has managed to mangle and pulverize my very last goddamned nerve.

If anyone from Verizon monitors blogs, including this one, consider yourself warned. I have had just about enough of being jerked around by you assholes.

Update: As you can tell by one of the comments, Verizon does, indeed have people who monitor blogs. I corresponded with the gentleman, who responded by saying that he would follow up on the problem (a land line problem). Initial indications are that the problem has been fixed. I will know for sure tomorrow when I am back in the House by the Parkway (North).

Update No. 2: I am back at the House by the Parkway (North), and I am pleased to say that I picked up the telephone receiver and heard the sweet sound of a dial tone. Props to the commenter from Verizon if he had a hand in making that happen.

  1. When I moved into my house this past summer, I switched everything to Verizon. Nothing worked. A month later and two repair guys…nothing. They continued to bill me after I then switched everything to the Evil Empire. Then they credited me, billed me, told me I was wrong, and I got a check from them last week.

    Joy.

  2. Too bad you don’t know somebody that can write them a sternly worded legal-type letter.

  3. As much as I lust after Fios the more I hear stuff like this about Verizon makes me stick with Comcast.

Plus I just don’t want to go through the hassle of switching my main email…

  4. We’re using Scott’s Internet & Cable & Phone Service and are happy with it. He never leaves his apartment so the tech support is excellent.

  5. Oh man – I’ve not had any trouble with them so far (I use for phone service only). Sorry to hear they are jerking your chain badly. *sigh* What is with large companies…

  6. I called Verizon when we moved here to see if there was a technical reason why we had ZERO bars in an area that on the propaganda map showed full coverage. The chicky on the other end blithely informed me that my particular neighborhood never gets signal, no reason given. I asked if, due to this circumstance, an early termination of contract without penalty might be arranged (never hurts to ask, right?)
She laughed, said no way, and suggested oh so helpfully that maybe before we move next time we ought to consult with Verizon first.
I cheerfully mentioned a word that sounds like “hunt” and hung up.

  7. Jim — Harry Mitchell from Verizon here. I’m happy to see what can be done about resolving your issues. Feel free to e-mail me with details.

  8. Verizon reads blogs? This should be interesting.

  9. On top of that, now there’s a major email outage, and as usual Verizon is trying to lie their way out of it.
