The Tucson “Memorial”

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 9:26 pm

I wrote five paragraphs about my impressions of the “Memorial” in Tucson and the President’s speech, which seemed to give lots of people, including some conservatives, a case of the vapors. I deleted the paragraphs, when I realized that I couldn’t call “Bullshit” better than Tammy Bruce did.

Machiavelli would be proud of the mileage the Left has gotten out of this horrible, horrible tragedy.

I was working the crossword puzzle in the Navy Times when Obama began his speech, so wasn’t paying too much attention to the text.
However, when the first cheers erupted, I told my wife “My God! This is a fricken campaign speech!”
I learned later about the T-shirts and other campaign paraphernalia being present.
If this had been intended as a true ‘memorial’, it would have been held in a more appropriate venue, such as a church or temple. But no. It was staged at the university, where the most impressionable and least experienced minds could be manipulated.
Make of this what you will, we have just heard the first shots fired in the campaign of 2012.
