Superman … WTF?

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 7:45 pm

When I was a kid, I was heavily steeped into the adventures of Superman. Hell, I not only bought every Superman comic I could get my hands on, but I was also a regular reader of Superboy and Supergirl (Hell, I even kept abreast of the doings with “Krypto,” the Superdog.)

I sure hope that what I’m reading about Superman these days turns out to be the result of a spell cast by Mr. Mxyzptlk or an exposure to some red kryptonite, but if not, The Man of Steel is dead to me.

  1. I too was a fan of Superman along with many othe comics. I am at a loss to remember how he got to be a US citizen in the first place. Did he have to take the test? Was he granted immunity with other illegal aliens? Did he vote as Superman or Clark Kent? There are many more questions to be asked and answered.

  2. I remember a sketch on SNL that dared to try to answer the question of “what if Superman were on the side of the Nazis in WWII?” I think we’d be speaking German now. SNL could be funny then-even though Al Franken was involved. Dan Ackroyd played the part of Superman.

  3. Political correctness: the gold kryptonite of the 21st century. Feh.
