Positively Sickening.
I have tried to gather my thoughts on the developments over the last few days, which were marked by attacks on U.S. embassies by seventh century savages, resulting in the deaths of four Americans, including the United States Ambassador to Libya.
Some damned fool in the administration thought that by making a preemptive apology for some filmmaker hurting the religious feelings of Muslims would keep the animals at bay. I was shocked when I read the apology, and obviously so was Mitt Romney, and he said so. The media instantly forgot about the attacks on the embassies and the dead Americans, and instead focused all their attention and venom on Mitt Romney.
Did he “jump the gun?â€
“How dare he politicize this!â€
“Did he shoot before he aimed?†(The One’s brilliant contribution to the narrative)
Perhaps the clincher was Chris Matthews, the spittle spewing douchebag, screeching that the death of the Libyan Ambassador has been “overshadowed by the desperate reach†by Romney. Overshadowed? Pathetic.
William A. Jacobson, of Legal Insurrection, summed it up very well:
An American Ambassador and three American security guards were butchered, anti-American riots broke out across the Middle East, a U.S. Embassy both before and after being stormed issued apologies for the exercise of our constitutional rights, our Secretary of State practically prostrated herself, the President had a good night’s sleep through it all and then went to Vegas for a fundraiser, and Mitt Romney commented intelligently on the absurdity of it all.
So on whom did the media collectively and in unison lash out? Mitt Romney.
Meanwhile, other embassies in the Middle East are in flames, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff was ordered by The One to have a word with the guy who was involved with making the film that we are to believe is the cause of all the death and destruction. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff? Seriously?
Not surprisingly, the lunatics in the Middle East are calling for the prosecution of the filmmaker, but the lunacy doesn’t stop at water’s edge. A University of Pennsylvania “professor†called for the arrest of the filmmaker. A professor at an Ivy League University? Stunning! Oh, and not to be outdone, Mike Barnicle, the serial plagiarist, and Boston blowhard got into the act by stating that the United States Justice Department ought to get on with indicting the folks involved with the film. Maybe Barnicle feels that since the First Amendment doesn’t protect plagiarism, it ought not apply in this instance.
Now, we are treated to Jay Carney’s telling us that the attack of the U.S. Embassy Cairo and on the same day (which just happens to be 9/11) the attack by the 400 cruds who showed up in at the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi with rifles and mortars were “not directed at the United States.†Rather they were just protestors angry about the film that no one has seen. Carney and his bosses live in an alternate universe.
Probably what gets me the most is the thought that there are people who are going to vote for four more years of this crap.
I need a drink.
After reading comments on multiple articles about the riots over a half ass film is clear we have become a country run by cowards. The want the easy way out, apologize, placate, payoff, do anything but stand up for American rights and values. Obama and his crowd of fear mongers, cowards and traitors have done everything they could to kiss Muslim ass. Who the fuck raised these people? They refuse to stand up for this country, they accept any insult, the condemn their own countrymen in favor of a people have proved they hate this country. Any excuse to riot, burn, kill and rape is used to attack this country. Let me be absolutely clear, we are at war with Muslim’s , they won’t quit they won’t stop and they depend on our internal issues to overthrow this country. Muslims are not following a faith of peace , they are following a faith of murder, rape and pillage based on a mad mans dreams and delusions.

The only good thing to come from this display of assinity by the Media & Officials is to publicize the stupidity & complete lack of ability of the Obama administration & to discredit the lamestream media.
I have to believe out in the American heartland what we are experiencing is not playing very well & the attacks on Romney are not winning voters for Obama`s re-election.
I have predicted Romney will win easily by about 8 % points, with the Republicans winning the Senate & retaining the house ……this current situation cements this belief.

If I’ve got it straight, here’s the actual order of events: 1) U.S. diplomats in Cairo shamefully apologize more or less preemptively for private U.S. citizens exercising their First Amendment rights in a way that “hurts the religious feelings†of Muslims. 2) “Protests†intensify into attacks on embassy in Cairo and consulate in Benghazi. 3) Romney calls Cairo embassy response disgraceful. 4) Reports of murders of Americans in Benghazi confirmed. 5) Obama administration disavows Cairo embassy line. 6) Obama campaign flack LaBolt shames Romney for politicizing murders.
But the instant narrative from the media is that Romney “jumped the gun,†that he has used the death of Americans as a campaign prop and broken the sacred rule that “politics stops at the water’s edge.†Except that’s not what happened at all. Cairo jumped the gun on its controllers in Washington, and by the time Cairo’s disgraceful response filtered out into the media ether it was being rendered more disgraceful still by the violent turn the protests took, and Romney rightly condemned it as disgraceful. The Obama administration then caught up to Romney and muzzled Cairo. So how is Romney the one with the bad messaging here? I, personally, don’t believe these attacks we’re caused by “the film”, which was supposedly made six months ago. I guess SEP 11/12 was just a coincidence. Yeah right. What is most amazing to me is that the current administration believes people will believe their spin, and what is more troubling is, most people do.

Whether the attacks were caused by the film (which I saw — totally dumb and pointless), or for some other perceived insult… there is simply no reason for these savages to go so batshit crazy, so as to storm embassies and kill American diplomats. The reaction of the Muslim world abroad, and of our own government, is, as the title of this post says, positively sickening. The mainstream media is dead. They are completely compromised — it is all agenda, agenda, agenda. There is no longer truth in their offerings. This is what The New York Times‘ Nicholas D. Kristof wrote in today’s paper: “Diplomacy is a minefield, and Mitt Romney spent the last week blowing up his foreign policy credentials to be president. He raised doubts about his capacity to deal with global crises, and we were left hoping that if that 3 a.m. call ever went to him, he’d have set up call forwarding.” I’m not sure who this “we” is that Kristof is referring to, but he certainly doesn’t speak for me. I’ll take Mitt’s foreign policy inexperience any day, since how much worse can it be than what we have been experiencing with our own four-year incumbent (much as I would like to disavow him) this past week?

Thursday was a half day of school for my boys, so I took the two younger ones to lunch. I told them of the attack on the Embassy in Yemen the night before. My second son said, “Wait… you mean, Cairo, right?” and I replied, ‘No, last night there was another attack… Yemen.” (My boys stay politically up to date.)
He got real quite, took a deep breath, crossed his arms across his chest and said, ‘Obama needs to grow a set…’
He’s 15. If my 15 year old sees it, without prompting, surely the average American does.
