daytime tv is nothing but mind numbing, brain draining, ghetto-izing,scum sucking, welfare targeting, IQ lowering, moron abling, vacant brained, idiot outing, piss smelly, fart enducing, pimple faced, stinky, smelly, noisy, screaming sleazes, targeted at welfare whores/sahms and smelly, nose picking, jobless, fat, balding, middle aged men who still live in moms basement.
the whole sound of it makes me sick if i find myself exposed to its rancid garbage, not unlike the trash that has been sitting in the hot sun for a few days with raw chicken in it and it is not allowed in my house. ever.
the whole autoshop expeience is funny though. along with the bad coffee, filthy furniture and the lovely sounds of the hydraulic drill(or whatever that is) its simply an experience i'd rather not have. see: laundromat and registry of motor vehicles for similar lovely experiences.

Jim, at least you didn't have any of the huddled masses trying to draw you into any kind of "conversation" (trying to find a silver lining in the Service Department cloud).

I loathe daytime tv - I always wonder why they always have it on EVERYWHERE!!! Luckily the people we go to for car service (an independent service guy) does NOT have a television - makes me wonder if that's how he stays in business (people like me who are so very grateful). *grin*

Okay, you win...your morning was crappier than mine!

Thank goodness you have such a wonderful sense of humor.

Dizzball may well have enjoyed the phone procedure you described, though...

Great stuff. I LOLd at "Did this person just escape from some kind of custody?"

Just went thru this crap recently myself. TV and cell phones and inconsiderate jackwads. Then I saw this nifty gadget on Amazon (do a search, read description of what it does): The TV-B-Gone Universal TV Power Remote Control Keychain! Only $14.99! Must have. Must. Have. Now. For next trip to Service Deparment Hell.

Very funny. I would cheer if Kelly Ripa was thrown over the wall, kicking and screaming, to hungry lions at the zoo. By the way, just what is Regis' talent ? Bud Abbott straight man ? Jerry Seinfeld, smug, witty funnyboy ? What about Ellen ? A snarly, self-absorbed feel-gooder with Tony Danza fake warmth ? Send them a letter asking for a loan with a hard luck story. See if they are "Yoko Ono Humanitarians".
The scary thing is that people who watch this garbage, like the young lady with the cellphone, get to pick the President. Maybe we can get Ellen to support Pat Buchannon in 2008.

Fortunately, my experience with an automotive related endeavor today was much less painful. I took my car in for emission testing (required every two years for registration in CA) and read one article from the A section of the newspaper. The tech returned with my keys, I paid, I left, and then came home.

Hardly as dramatic, and without a laugh track or live audience. But I'll tell ya, it worked for me.
