Obviously, this was all our fault.
Bush lied, Afghanistan, Iraq, Halliburton, Cheney, Oil, no WMD’s etc.
Let’s bring all the troops home immediately. That will prevent anything like this from happening ever again, anywhere.

My wife encountered that exact argument yesterday from one of the professors in her department. Her response was simple: “That’s nice, but what were we doing before 9/11 that provoked an attack? Protecting the Saudis from Iraq?” The discussion was then effectively over.
