On Being a Jersey Republican.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 7:03 pm

Dear Republicans in my Congressional District,

I’ve received several letters (actually two) inquiring about our mobilization plan for the congressional elections in 2008.

Seeing as how there are only twenty-five of us in this District and that we are spread across parts of three counties and parts of sixteen municipalities, and seeing as how the chances of each of us getting hit in the head with a piece of space junk far exceed the chances of us ever voting this Waste of Space out of office, I suggest that rather than wasting our time worrying about congressional elections, we get together every third Wednesday to catch a flick and maybe have a couple beers afterwards.

Otherwise, we could continue to hold our regular monthly meetings in my second cousin George’s Buick Roadmaster Station Wagon.

Sincerely,

Jimbo

  1. You’re f*cking joking, right? There’s really, really only 25 of you with something remotely resembling brain?

Sounds to me like beer and movie night might appeal to the Dems. Try throwing in some pot and granola, and watch your minority numbers grow.

  2. Jimbo…..

I understand all to well ……….I am also a republican in a dimocratic wunderland. All dimocratic mayors since 1964. Back then the town had 141,000 residents, was financially solvent, enjoyed a vibrant central business district & was a strong manufacturing center.

Today the town has 105,000 people, the town is broke, teetering on bankruptcy & subject to being taken over by the state, the central city is dead , a home for derelics & 70% of the manufacturing companies have left.

The last election was a dimocratic landslide for the new mayor…He ran on a record of dimocratic progress. His predecessor the former mayor was caught in a fradulant land scheme of buying land for personel gain around areas to be redeveloped (Insider information for profit) Even though some of his co-conspiritors acknowledged their participation & the prosecutor had the former mayors signed check for the realty transfers , the all dimocratic jury found him not guilty.

So let me know when your next beer & movie nite is taking place & I`ll see if enough Republicans are left in this town for a bowling team & we will come on down.

  3. Jim,
Your congressman is even worse than you think – he voted along with my congressional cockroach to support the silencing of witnesses to terror:

Make sure you stomach is empty before you read it…
The sad thing is my district is a good 40%+ Republican, only a redistricting drawing part of Trenton into a Central Jersey district allows Holt to be re-elected…

  4. And to think, just a few miles from your house is a veritable shangri-la: The home district of the honorable Mike Ferguson. A good man… why not meet with him and get him to produce a golden child for the tenth district?

I’m so glad I moved across town.
Makes me feel a little less guilty about Menendez, Lautenberg, and Corzine.

  5. I think you’re down to 23 in the 10th, unless you’ve picked up a couple of replacements.

  6. Jimbo, I think 25 is stretching it a little bit.

Time to move out to the 11th, Rodneyland.
