Katie in the Tank.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 6:54 pm

This is what CBS bought for fifteen million dollars per year for five years.

In the latest week’s ratings, “CBS Evening News” had its worst performance since the Nielsen company installed its “people meter” ratings system 20 years ago.

Yeah, but Jimbo, would you rather have Katie Couric or Dan Rather anchor CBS News?

Yo, that’s sort of like asking me which of my stindeens I’d prefer to place into a vice for some serious squeezage.

  1. How much ya wanna bet that her contract is ironclad and bulletproof?
Good for Katie, screw those punks at CBS.

  2. Well, it certainly isn’t a think tank. Eh…I try.

  3. Dude…are you not going for morning walks anymore? And furthermore, I think it’s best that Katie be as far away as possible from Matt Lauer, lest they join forces and form a Teethal Weapon.

  4. I couldn’t be happier, I love it when networks (and sports teams) make this kind of mistake.

CBS gets to fry in their own juices, it’s Mmm Mmm good!

They take an overhyped, no talent dope, steal her away from NBC with an even more lucrative contract, prop her up in front of a camera and then are surprised to hear crickets after her first broadcast. We’re experiencing ebbs and flows…

I wonder if NBC was really that sad to see her go… I bet the dance music came on as soon as they slammed the door behind her.

  5. If CBS would just air re-runs of the Munsters instead of the news they would quadruple their ratings overnight!
DAMN!…I mean…even re-running the “The Banana Splits” or “LanceLot Link Secret Chimp” would improve those ratings!

  6. “LanceLot Link Secret Chimp” might get confused with a White House press conference on national security issues, heh.

The problem with Couric is her whole colonoscopy thing. Now every time you hear the CBS News theme, you get a little twinge down there.

  7. Katie reading the news is like listening to Mr. Rogers with tits. Every broadcast blames Bush for global warming, the war, the cost of milk and gas and all natural disasters including floods, hurricanes and Keith Olbermann.
I think Bush got a bad rap on the milk thing.
Let Adam Sandler read the news. It can’t be any worse than Katie.

  11. Dear Dick-
I guess even Katie Couric ages…Damn! So who’s the Banana Splits’ Drooper now…Katie or Mr Rogers? I heard they buried Mr Rogers “tits-up”. What-da-ya think?

  13. Hi Jim!

I don’t watch the news. I get my info directly through various and opposing sources. That way I can be assured of finding some truth somewhere in the middle.

BTW, I like those elephants too. I remember seeing one as a kid as we travelled through somewhere. It might have been been Morrocco. I remember it made me laugh. It still makes me smile.

Yep, this is me killing 2 birds!

I mean, come on… this has GOT to be another of his diabolical works, right 🙂
