Sounds like the last election I had here – only a single Democrat for each office except US Senator (of course I voted against old Teddy… not that it helped). I was used to Illinois which mostly has at least a Republican up against a Democrat in most of the elections. Very depressing indeed to have a one party system going on. *sigh*

How depressing…

My district at least has a decent Republican state senator; we actually used to elect right-of-center representatives to Congress consistantly until 2000, when the Democrats used the census to re-jigger the distict in a bizarre geographical fashion and make it “safe” for them for eternity.

Oh well. Glad to see you ain’t gonna skip the vote entirely, like many folks. Me, I just made note of who all the incumbants are, and I’m gonna vote against them. Limit the damage that way…

And since I met all of the many candidates running for the Mayorship of Old Bridge, I am voting for the one fellow who was quite obviously an “idiot or insane person”, just for spite….and I’ll vote to keep that wording alive, so I may call him such once elected!

It’s just as bad here in Maryland. The governor has called a special legislative session for the purpose of jacking our taxes up even more to cover the excessive spending from last session. I cringe whenever the General Assembly meets—they pass the stupidest legislation then impose its cost on the taxpayers. Unfortunately, this is still a one-party state with Dumb-as-Craps outnumbering Republicans 3 to 1. Governor O’Malley—screwing up Maryland the way he did Baltimore!
