Saturday, Saturday.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 1:27 pm

I have been feeling antsy as a result of about eight or nine days without a ground pound. So, this morning, I looked out the window and satisfied myself that there would be a sufficiently long rainless window (rained like a bitch last night) for me to hit the street. I suited up with sweat pants, a long-sleeved tee-shirt and a nylon, “water resistant” windbreaker. I topped off my outfit with a baseball cap. Out I went.

About a quarter mile from home, came the drizzle. I forged ahead. About another quarter mile from home, the skies opened and positively gushed drenching, COLD rain. I turned in the direction of home, and by the time I got there, I looked and felt like a drowned rat.

Mrs. Parkway: You’re back already?

Me: Are you shitting me? It’s pouring, I’m soaked, and I’m cold as hell.

Mrs. Parkway: Pansy.

After I emerged from the hot shower and got dressed, I walked a couple times into different rooms, each time forgetting why I went there in the first place.

Mrs. Parkway: Doof.

Promises to be a long day.

  1. Surely you’re not surprised by her comments… I mean, you’ve been married to her for how long? 🙂

  2. LOL – Mrs. Parkway has all my sympathy. You need to get yourself an elliptical machine for those days when you need to work the legs and it’s too ucky outside to make it doable.

Raining, raining, raining… yep that will be our day today too. My husband has already been out on a ladder to fix a gutter spout that decided to come apart and pour water directly down to the foundation… *sigh* I hate water sometimes.

  3. Hey, when she’s right, she’s right. And she’s right as (*ahem*) rain.

    Wiseass Jooette: Dooshbag.

  4. I’ve been having that antsy thing too. Like, should I make fun of Dooshbag X, or Dooshbag Y, that kind of thing.

  5. I got the antsy deal to go fishin’, but it’s hard to do when MN drops a foot and a half of powdery white crap on you over night. Boats and blizzards don’t work that well. Now, when this crap melts, the boat might come in handy.

Didn’t the hat give your most fabulous hair a case of “hat head”… Happens to me all the time.

  6. we had a downpour while dining outdoors last night. It required grabbing our plates and drinks and seeking shelter. Frankly, I was more worried about a watered-down beverage than a soaked meal! You know, because my priorities are in order!

  7. Well, we have just survived another winter storm in Cleveland. We have about 18 inches of snow on the ground. (not counting the huge drifts) I am SO HOUSEBOUND! I tried to walk around today, but the blizzard conditions and drifting snow sent me back inside whimpering. I did just look outside, and it has FINALLY stopped snowing!! Woo Hoo! Tomorrow I walk again!

  8. Hmm. Pansy or doof. Not sure which I prefer. What are my other choices?
