It's always a shock to the Self-Important to discover that they aren't immune to the same rules, regulations, and other societal constraints that the rest of us live with.

I just wish to hell they'd get caught more often than they seem to.

At LAX, they don't just have signs and a public address system, they get in your face. Recently, when I dropped my boyfriend off for a flight, I got out of the car to help him with his suitcase (he's had heart surgery and couldn't lift it.) I was *not* going to leave the car unattended at all, just get the suitcase out of the car. That takes maybe all of 15 seconds, if that. As we are doing this, a guard comes up and starts shouting at us to "MOVE THE CAR NOW!!!" He was really super threatening. But what was I supposed to do?...the suitcase was already half out of the car. It was only going to take about another two seconds to put it on the curb, hug my boyfriend, and get the hell outta there. He kept yelling, right in our faces. So, I just said, "Sorry dude, you're going to have to wait!" Gah! I mean, WTF? That seemed a little bit wayyy over the top.

Also, I've noticed that if I go to the airport when my car is dirty and I have no makeup on, I *always* get searched! But when my car is washed and I'm all fixed up pretty, they just wave me on through. Talk about profiling!
