Time Out.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 8:51 pm

Do you feel that you could use a break from reading, hearing and watching the mortal combat that politics has become? I know I do.

I suggest that you block out some time and visit Shorpy. It is a collection of high-resolution vintage photographs.

Although many of the photos are well before my time, many are not, and those serve to remind me of a time when things were a whole lot simpler.

Good stuff there.

  1. Yeah, it’s a cool site. A friend emailed me the link the other day. I meant to go back and look at more than the first couple of pictures then got busy. Guess I’ll go look now. 🙂

  4. The site is nice. Calming too, yet I still wanna body check and then do some butt-ending on the MSM and many Dems for their pitiful treatment of the Palin family.

  5. Been looking at and downloading pictures from that site for the last 6 months. Simply amazing! As a history AND photography buff, I find Shorpy right down my alley. The Kodachrome transparancies will blow you away!! Need my “Shorpy(and Parkwayreststop)fix” everyday! 😉

  7. What is this?? Vintage photos?? Our presidential candidate accepts the nomination, Barack is shitting bricks for the first time since before he surged ahead of Hillary, we have a hot librarian Tina Fey-lookalike running for GOP VP, and you’re sitting there reminiscing about the Pleistocene epoch?

I need pithy commentary, dammit! Witty jabs at Biden’s combover. A conversation between Saracuda and an Alaskan salmon. But noooo, you need to look at pictures of soda fountains, barber poles, 50-year-old Chevy Impalas and Cape May in 1923. You’re lettin’ me down, Hairboy. I’m not happy.
