  1. that particular cartoon managed to get the cartoonist attacked by the National Organization for Women when it was first published. They said it promoted violence against women. I guess they never saw the show enough to know that Alice always got the upper hand.

    I had no idea about that. Perhaps membership in that organization requires checking your sense of humor at the door.
