If you look at it a different way, it seems depressing that the bottom 50% only get 12% of adjusted gross income. In addition, if this reflects only FIT then the payroll, sales, state, local, vice and property taxes paid by the bottom 50% are not reflected and these obvioulsy reflect a significantly higher percentage of their income. I am not advocating raising taxes on anyone but there are many sides to this story.

How much is a “fair share”? If it was defined, I would gladly pay it. Unfortunately I fear that CenTexTim is correct.
