N.J. tomatoes declared safe to eat

I’m assuming this is because everyone in New Jersey already has toxic levels of chemicals in their body and therefore it kills off the Salmonella before it even begins.

  1. Teresa,
Whether or not Jersyites (and ex-Jersyites like myself)glow in the dark or naturally repel insects, the Garden State is called the Garden State for a reason and Jersey Tomatoes are the absolute zenith of the world’s horticultural endeavors.

  2. Us folks from Jersey make the “Swamp Thing” look like a wuss. Btw., mosquitoes NEVER bite me. Who needs “OFF”?

Btw., a room temperature, fully ripened Jersey tomato is heaven on earth (especially when sandwiched between the halves of a salt bagel and cream cheese…heavenly).

  3. Sadly I am not much of a tomato eater. So I guess I would miss out on catching something from eating them. Although I admit to having had a tomato appetizer once that was truly delicious. Something with crumbled cheese and some sort of balsamic vinaigrette. For the most part I like my tomatoes cooked rather than chopped up on top of things. LOL.

  4. I was born in Jersey and I attract mosquitoes in vast droves.

While I agree that Jersey tomatoes are excellent I should point out that many varieties of tomatoes from other parts of the country are also very good. And safe (assuming the pickers aren’t using them for toilet paper).

  5. RT – That flavor comparison is kind of like “Ice is wonderful and delicious especially when you drown it under four ounces of choclate vodka”. Mmmmmmm Salt Bagels.
