Skunked and Zonked.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 6:42 am

I could not get to the web last night. Perhaps it had something to do with a pretty hairy thunderstorm that stuck around here for a while. Then again, for all I know it could have been flying monkeys or just some transient cyber-turd that found its way to my computer.

So, being essentially computerless, I fired up HBO and started to watch “Bruce Almighty,” starring Jim Carrey. Until then, I hadn’t realized that it is possible to be knocked unconscious by stupidity.

Memo to Jim Carrey: Consider France.

  1. I think you should give serious consideration to moonlighting as film reviewer for your local paper. What an excellent, pithy, scathing, 3-sentence review; especially the “knocked unconscious by stupidity” line. Of course, I have never intentionally seen more than about 1 minute of Jim Carrey in anything because his brand of humor (FaceMaking 101) is totally beyond my comprehension (obviously). So I may be a tad biased.

  2. If you have ever seen the Clint Eastwood movie “Pink Cadillac” you may have caught a cameo of Carrey as a stand up comedian.

Needless to say the 20 second cameo pretty much sums up his brand of humor and Eastwood’s facial reaction to him is priceless.

  3. There was only one scene worth watching in that waste-of-time, and it was the one where Bruce took over his coworker (Steve Carell)as he anchored the news.

  4. Ah, I haven’t seen it, guess it’s not worth my time – LOL. Thanks, you saved me from wasting a couple of hours. Not that I’ve exactly jumped up and dashed to my nearest video store to get hold of it. But that’s just me, there are movies that are years old that I think I might watch someday, only someday hasn’t arrived yet and I continue to function. Makes me realize that movies are not necessary to my continued existence – LOL.

  5. The scene with the news anchor literally made me laugh so hard that I cried. It was so funny – all those wacky noises and funny faces. Hee!
