Good Intentions.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 12:48 am

I had intended to write something after watching The One’s press conference. I made it through the press conference but then promptly fell asleep in Mr. Recliner. I dreamed about the bushel of money that will surely be coming my way in the next Stimulus Package. Or a pony. Or something.

  2. A brief horror story about intentions: I had gone out for a liquid supper with a couple of workmates of mine, with every intention of having “just one,” and with good and honorable intentions of returning to work relatively coherent enough to perform perfunctory writing tasks.

I am sandwiched in between these two blokes at the bar (a nice Irish pub, in fact — Harry O’s, if you’re ever in the nabe), and Barack _______ Obama comes on the TV, and the yutz to my right, who I consider a good friend, practically piddles himself, and begs the bartender to turn it up.

Talk about a buzzkill, and then we got on, “What brand do you think he smokes?” Friendly word of advice: In mixed company, never, ever, ever suggest Newports since, as I learned the hard way (being branded a racist, blah blah blah), that is akin suggesting Jews dip their matzah in Christian childrens’ blood.

    You live and you learn.

  3. I accidentally got the remote stuck on the speech channel for about two seconds and just seeing his face made me blanch.

  4. I wouldn’t soil my TV with that SOB’s speech.

  5. Happily, I turned the TV off before His Royal Obamaness got on the air, and left it off the rest of the night. Amazing what a good book will do…

  6. I never even turned the television on last night… but I did follow the tweets from Barak Obama’s teleprompter. He was a bit upset that people didn’t realize he was also the glossy television screen. It hurt him deeply that people were saying BO had gotten along without him.

  7. Such venom. Do you hate him that much? This too shall pass.

  8. More than you can imagine, Kevin. He is the catalyst to the destruction of the Republic as we’ve known it.
I will give the left some credit, though – they had a very well thought out and executed plan to ruin this nation and, even though it took many years to play out, they pulled it off. Well, we let them get away with it, actually, shame on us, but what is done can be undone and shall.

  9. Kevin, do you have a clue or are you too young to understand? Do a little research on this man and his background. Look around you to see what’s happening to your country. Those of us old enough, recognize what he is attempting to do. He is a full blown communist rat bastard, put quite simply. Educate yourself. Become informed. One thing that drives politicians crazy is an informed electorate.

  10. This nation will survive Barack Obama and be stronger for it.

  11. Obama seems to me to be in the same mold as John F. Kennedy.

  12. I am very well informed. I read newspapers, watch Fox News and CNN, and listen to NPR and the BBC World Service.

  13. Have a wonderful evening.

  14. I turned off the TV last night and read a gothic vampire novel. Much less scary than the Obamaness…..

  15. I wonder what would happen if Obama met up with a vampire? Which one would suck the other dry?

  16. I refuse to watch him on TV. Of course this is made easier since I don’t watch TV. I told the guys at work though, “He’s the TViest President we’ve ever had.”

  17. Only thing that will be coming your way, Jimbo, is a big fat peanut-coated POS in the form of a HUGE tax increase and Big Brother watching your every move!

    Comment by Lee — March 25, 2009 @ 11:19 pm

  18. I only got to listen to about 5 minutes of the speech (was working through most of it), while I was driving home. During that 5 minutes I (and you’ve met me Jimbo…you know I don’t cuss)was yelling WTF! No sh88 Sherlock! You SOB MF!

It was starting to affect my driving, so I turned. it. off.
