The 219.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 9:18 pm

You know what? I am still seething over what happened in the House of Representatives on Friday.

Today, I was thinking about all of the 219 Congressmen who voted for the bill, without a single one of them having read it.

Let’s take a brief flight of fancy and assume that a handful of them actually read the original 1,000 pages (Remember, I said this was a flight of fancy). They certainly couldn’t have read the 310-page amendment that was proffered at 3:00 a.m. of the day of the vote. And they damned sure didn’t read the entire bill, as amended, because no one had a copy of the final bill, which would integrated the 300+ page amendment into the 1,000 + page text.

Just think about that for one minute. Really, think about that.

219 Congressmen voted for a bill that would affect virtually every American citizen and every American business and would create a monitoring and enforcement agency that would have to be the size of the IRS. And they didn’t read it! Look, even if, in concept, they believed in stated goals of the bill, how could they vote for it without knowing what was in it? Is that what we send these people to Washington to do?

Simple. If you don’t want to read the goddamned bills you vote on, don’t run for Congress.

Every goddamned one of them positively sickens me.

P.S. The One’s Energy Czar hasn’t read it either. You can’t make this shit up.

  1. F*cktards, all of them! I was so mad I couldn’t see straight! Absolute lunacy! And those eight rePUBICs that voted for this almight POS, may they rot in hell! GAWD! I never imagined years ago whilst busting my ass at The University of Denver to earn my accounting degrees so that I could support MY FAMILY someday (rather than the lazy pukes found wandering around on the 16th Street Mall day after day…offering a POS publication in exchange for a $1 “to help the homeless”!, that I would be subjected to such an incredibly STUPID government!

  2. The problem is that with all of the media swarming to cover all the celebrity deaths, the average citizen has no clue what happened on Friday. I know that I have had to explain it to five people myself thus far just in my office.

  4. Absolutely disgusting. If they are not willing to do their jobs they should resign.

We really really need to replace every single one of them, Dem or Rep, it doesn’t matter, they are ALL corrupt if they do not read and understand what they are voting on or if they put Party interests ahead of the Nation’s interest.

  5. I saw her admit it on Fox yesterday and about fell out of my chair. This is the 2nd time, that I can think of off the top of my head, that MAJOR legislation has been passed when it’s OBVIOUS that no one read the damned thing…..I’m normally a woman of action and I’m standing here like a deer caught in the light of a train speeding at me……

  6. I am making plans to attend a tea party on the 4th…and hope that millions more people do the same. It is the only way we can stop this nonsense.

  7. I’m with Dogette, scary shit. This isn’t the U.S. I grew up in or learned about in school. It’s going downhill faster than a sled with greased runners down a Teflon hill.
