Another Blogger Published.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 8:16 pm

I always rejoice when a fellow blogger actually publishes something somewhere other than on a blog. The latest cause for celebration is our pal Carl Brannen who got one of his manuscripts accepted for publication.

I have read and thoroughly enjoyed Elisson’s book of 100-word stories and Velociman’s book about a boy’s adventure-filled journey through the underbelly of the South, but, as one who views gravity as the magical force that causes apples to fall from a tree onto one’s cruller (as opposed to sailing off into space), I have a bit of difficulty understanding Carl’s published work. Carl thinks in a space that is both foreign and completely amazing to me. It is nice to know that there are people out there who can and do think about these things.

Kudos to the Carlster.

  1. I think you easily have three or four books in here if you culled the majority of your archives together. The Army stuff, Chuck Hagel talks to a can of wax beans, Jimbo’s deli, the Nancy & Hilly Chronicles…hello?? Then you could add the impressive title of “celebrated author” onto your curriculum vitae, right next to lawyer, blogger, and Jersey dooshbag.

  2. You know what cracks me up when I go over there? I don’t understand his commenters either. I’m so on a different planet, that I watch them banter and I think, “I think this is English they are speaking…”

I like knowing there are people like him out there.

  3. “Lawyer, Blogger and Jersey Dooshbag.”

I rather like it. I ought to have calling cards made like that.

  4. I went over and scrolled through the comments and my hey-ed asploded, and I thought of the scene in Breakfast Club where the nerd kid explains that he’s involved in the chess club and the physics club, etc., and the badass kid asks the nerd kid what they do in the physics club and nerd kid explains, “We talk about physics, properties of physics.”

Then again, we do not talk about Physics Club.

Ok, I’m finished with the movie quotes. I was the badass kid in school so I never amounted to much but I watch movies.

  5. Thanks for the plug, Jimbo.

I’ve finally run out of adult beverages from the big celebratory purchases and am working on physics again…
