Changes.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 8:51 pm

As you may have noticed, I have not posted anything over the last couple of days. That is because I have been busy attending Christmas Year-End parties. A few of them were also retirement parties.

Yo, Jimbo did you say “retirement parties”?

Indeed I did.

Know why?

Because, as of this morning “¦”¦”¦”¦”¦

I

AM

RETIRED.

I have been happily anticipating this for months, and now it is, as they say, “official.”

What are my plans?

Well, there is the new house, which is still by the Parkway, only about 70 miles farther south.

I expect that I’ll have more time to devote to the silliness of blogging, but beyond that, the world is my oyster. Who knows where I might turn up looking to have a cocktail or three?

  4. Oh, well done! Congrats!

Charleston is worth the time for a visit when you get tired of wearing a crease into Mr. Recliner.

  5. WHOOHOO!! Congrats, Jim! At 62 I still dream of that magic word. I could do it, but a move out of Joisey would be necesary. Hmmm, what’s the downside? 😉 I need to call “Teh Won” and ask him where the hell my check is!!

  8. If you happen to find yourself in the general vicinity of Billings, Montana, I’ll spring for a beverage or three.

Congrats on the retirement — any guess as to how long it takes Mrs. Parkway to get tired of having you around all the time?

  14. BTW – looks like your admiring throng wants you to go on an extended road trip. I can see it now – Jimbo and his bodyguard in the big fat black capitalist car – cruising route 66 with farooking great hair and guitars to boot. That would be a trip indeed! (just remember to stop in Tennessee while you’re out and about. 😉 )

  18. I was officially retired back in 1998 from a large medical equipment manufacturer…..since I also had a part time business , I then went to work full time the next day there & am still there building this business to leave for my son to operate when my second retirement arrives. The good news is I do not have some smug asshole trying to tell me how to do my job so it does not really seem like work…..more like fun.

  19. Hey does that mean you are now in my neck of the woods? If so, you will have to come to my annual summer music jamboree. I have a house on Barnegat bay and every summer I hold a party that features bands and solo acoustic artists.
If you are now “down the shore”, you’ll have to come and play at our party.
