Bowed but not Beaten.

The Constitutional Republic, as envisioned by the Founders, was brutally assaulted yesterday.

I am sad and very angry at the moment.

Regular blogging will resume tomorrow, maybe.

  1. Health insurance reform was desperately needed. For far too many Americans, health insurance was simply unaffordable. The current system is broken and needs to be fixed.

  2. But not like this, Kevin, not like this.

  3. Jimbo,
Buck up buddy. When Carter dragged us down unemployment was higher, inflation was rediculous, the Prime Rate was 12 farookin percent. We survived, we persevered, we overcame. Tomorrow is another day.

And so is the second Tuesday in November.

Kevin when 85% of the population is happy with their insurance and 10% can’t be bothered to buy it when they can afford it, just how ‘desperate’ a situation can it be.

  4. This is not a healthcare fix. This is a hijacking by a self-grandiose “leader” and his kissass squad, all the better to flex his little muscles and pretend he has meaning.
Mark and Dave are right, as is Jimbo.
That walking abortion called Obama is not. Not by a long shot.
    I’m mad too.

  5. Kevin,

The next time your car needs to be fixed, let me know. I’ll take a crack at it, and I’ll only charge you twice what the professionals would.

  7. The sad truth is, few Americans, relatively speaking, understand what a “Constitutional Republic” (as envisioned and INTENDED by the Founders) even IS, Jimbo.

Seriously. All the dumbing down, etc. — this is what happens. Incremental feel-goodism, etc. All the years of bad decisions at the S Ct level. It all lands us here with a few (again, relatively speaking) standing athwart history yelling “STOP!”

Not telling YOU anything new, Jimbo, but thanks for letting me . . . mourn . . . here in your space. You get it. I feel faint, but knowing that YOU get it makes me feel a little better.

You know that phrase, “I’m going to Disneyland”? I’m going back to the historical area of Colonial Williamsburg (ASAP). You see now why I hide out there so much? Heh. It helps me maintain my beloved delusion that we are still a Constitutional Republic.

  8. We need to start an “Athwart” Party.

(as opposed to the AssWart parties we already have)

  9. “brutally assaulted” is an understatement.

  10. Tort reform needed to be the FIRST and FOREMOST health reform. If that were accomplished, then Doctors and Hospitals would not have to charge so much to cover their butts with insurance……..this government take-over is a disaster. I can’t wait for all the states to declare it ain’t happening in their area – and say it’s unconstitutional.

  11. Be not troubled, my friend. This is the best thing that could have happened. The swell of patriotism that this has launched has not been seen since 12/7/41 and it’s just the beginning. We’ve been fat, lazy and complacent for too long and now it’s time to rise to the occasion and show these traitorous, tyrannical bastards (and bitches) what it’s all about.

  12. I am still absolutely stunned and disgusted! And a heavy heart. These cretins in DC have no principles.
