Marketing IQ Test.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 9:55 pm

The goal of good marketing is to establish strong associations between the marketed brand and things like logos, tag lines, jingles and even simple but distinctive sounds. Taking this little test demonstrates how successful marketers can be at establishing those connections, often without us realizing that we’ve been taught something we never intended to learn.

The test takes about a minute, and it’s fun. (I scored 18/20).

Thanks to my pal Rich from my hometown.

  1. I missed the airline one. Guess this means I’ll have to pay extra for that bag after all.

  2. I clearly spend too much time watching TV. I scored 20/20. Should i be happy or sad?

  3. I do not know whether I was struck with instant Alsheimers or just naturally resistant to the wailing of sales personel…..14 out of 20. Some of the jingles I never heard of & the car logos ….If the Vehicle is not a Ford F-250/F-350, not interested.

  4. I only got 11 out of 20. I don’t watch much T.V. That must mean they have only invaded a little over half my brain. Or I’m just a dumbass.

  7. Sadly, I got 19/20. I already knew I spend too much time in front of the TV. I missed the last question. I don’t get any news networks on my cable.

  8. I’m with Jerry – what’s up with the doughboy…

OTOH there is a downside to these associations too – if you can’t stand them (a la the Geico Gecko) you well remember what to stay away from. Ha!
