Whoa!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 7:55 pm

I’m fairly sure I’ve posted this before, but I’m too lazy to find it. Anyway, Ken, my friend and bodyguard, sent this to me today, and I watched all of it again, amazed by what these guys do for a living. I don’t have a morbid fear of heights, but …… whoa!

  1. Well, I do have a fear of heights, maybe not morbid, and I’ve had jobs that required me to climb 50 foot towers. Quite far enough, thank you. Eventually I got to the point where it was routine.

But what you really want to do is to imagine what it’s like to do this when it’s windy, or raining, or when the tower is covered with ice.

  4. Holy fuckamoley.

I’ve climbed to the top of distillation towers in refineries… and I’ve ridden vertical man-lift elevators consisting of a vertical conveyor belt with little foot- and hand-holds. But this video made by bowels quiver.

  5. I have a fear of heights and couldn’t make it more than about 8 seconds. I’ll keep my feet firmly on the ground, thank you very much.
