Who is John Galt?

Have you read Atlas Shrugged? I finally got around to it about two years ago. It’s well worth your time, and I promise that, if you are paying attention to the way things are going in this country, it will send shivers down your spine.

  1. Read it in high school, roughly 40 years ago. Didn’t understand it then, but re-read it a few years later and “got it”. Have re-re-read it a few times since, and yeah, it sends shivers. You might want to have a read of her “The Fountainhead” and “Anthem”. She’d also written several non-fiction books that go into more detail about the philosophy behind her fictional stories.

  3. Wonderful book. Hope the movie is half as intelligent.

  4. I’ve read it twice…the last time, not so long ago. Shivers is an understatement.

  5. Enjoyed it. Looks like the movie might do it justice as it’s split into multiple parts.

  6. Carl – Don’t know about doing it “justice”, exactly. Should be ok as long as you keep in mind that the purpose of the book is to explain Objectivism. The best we can hope for in the movie is that it will illustrate it.

If it does that, I’ll be happy.
