Eagles.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 10:03 pm

I just watched the Eagles on NBC.

Memo to the Boys and Girls Who Want to Start a Band:

If you want to start a band and really make instrumental and vocal music rather than just slamming away on a G Chord with the volume pumped up to 10 and running full distortion, study the Eagles.

They do it just exactly right.

  1. Partial to some of Joe Walsh’s solo efforts mahsef. Some of his lyrics just make me laugh.

  2. Joe Walsh is a Jersey Guy. He graduated from Montclair High School with a guy I know. About 15 years ago his class was celebrating its 20th Reunion. The Reunion Committee sent him an invitation, but they felt certain that he would not even respond to the invitation, let alone show up.

Not only did he accept the invitation, but he also sent along extra money to “pay for someone who would like to come, but who can’t afford it.” To top it all off, he showed up with his axe and did a couple numbers.

    Cool guy.

  3. I don’t know nuttin’ about bandying about, but I do like the Eagles. We took our 14 year old son to see them at the Meadowlands a few weeks back, and I remembered again how good they are.

  4. Joe rules. I knew it. An ‘ordinary average guy’.

  5. We enjoyed watching that too….especially Joe’s “Life’s Been Good To Me”. That cracked me up.

It’s great to see a musician who doesn’t take himself too seriously.
