Terrorist Task Force Arrests Five in Jersey.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 9:01 pm

ABC News reports that the Joint Terrorism Task Force arrested five Egyptian men in Jersey on Sunday, based on a tip given to the Newark Police Department. They were found to be in possession of maps of the New York Subway System and videos of New York City landmarks. Even though they all claimed to be unemployed engineers, they had $8,000 in $20 and $50 bills.

Four of the five men are illegal immigrants and the fifth is a law enforcement fugitive, having jumped ship from an Egyptian freighter in 2000.

The government is taking steps to deport them.

Now, isn’t that just special?

  1. Geez. Wish I had $8000 in $20s and $50s . . .

  2. Any particular reason why they’re not taking steps to squish them? If they deport them these roaches will be back here in a month.

  3. It appears that the only crime they have committed is being here illegally. They may well end up getting bail and scatter while the deportation proceedings plod along. And, if they are booted, I agree with you. They’ll be back.

  4. Yeah, “steps to deport them” usually means a quick processing & ROR with a summons to appear. At least around here it seems to.

  5. They’ll be back, but at least they might not return to an apartment on Ferry St., which is a little too close to my home for comfort. But I’d much rather they get rid of bums on the McCarter Highway who shake change cups at my car whenever I get stuck at the light by the Clay St. bridge.

Even though the stuff they had seemed sketchy, none of it is illegal. At this very moment, I’m in possession of MTA and NJ Transit maps, videos and pictures of NYC landmarks, and an emergency c-note in the underwear drawer. Are the cops going to come a-knockin’ at my door?
