Weird Weather.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 12:44 pm

I was outside this morning in a tee shirt and shorts taking down the Christmas lights. At one point, the sun was uncomfortably warm. The thermometer on my deck registered 72 degrees. I’ve endured countless bone-chilling Jersey winters, and this just ain’t right.

I never thought I would say this, but I could use a bit of cold weather, thank you.

  1. Jim, I remember being home on leave from the Army in 1968 and being outside on Christmas Day washing my car in shirt sleeves! NJ weather CAN be weird at times. But, at least, we aren’t exposed to most of the violent “acts of nature” (tornadoes, earthquakes, huge blizzards, large hurricanes) that affect many other states. Now, about the taxes…..

  2. Jim, it’s all over. I had the windows open this morning to air things out and had to shut them because it got hot inside… trying desperately to NOT turn the a/c on. I’m with you – I’d like a little more winter, please.

  3. it’s a little colder down here, but still, I have crocus blooming and the daffodils are shooting up out of the soil. They are in for a big surprise.

  4. All you have to do is go to Colorado. They are getting hammered with winter there. Or go to New Zealand. They are having their coldest summer on record. Just crazy all over.

I note that they had worse weather in the South than we have had up here in NY/NJ.

  5. Heh…yeah, it’s a mite warm out today, I agree.

Reminds me, about two or three years ago, some guy who’s a columnist at my job but lives in Florida sent my office a crate of Fla. oranges in December.

I distinctly recall wearing a tie-dyed t-shirt to work that day and stepping outside to enjoy my orange in the sunshine…

The sun beat down on my face as I took a bite, and all this orange juice came dribbling out all over my arm, face, t-shirt, the asphalt… but strange in that Christmas was just a week away.

(why does that description remind me of ‘The Lemon Song,’ by Zeppelin?)

  9. Even here in Florida it’s been a much warmer than usual winter… but, the prediction I saw the other day said it will also be a much warmer summer… damn, that sucks!

  10. I hear ya, Jimbo! 83 today… and humid as hell. I couldn’t stop sweating.

  11. Yeah, welcome to my world of the land of fruits & nuts.
I’d kill for some decent real winter.

  12. Jombo,
There has obviously been a delivery mistake here. You’ve got our Denver weather and we’ve got your northeast nonsense.

PS We would be happy to switch at any time. I missed my New Year’s day round of golf. I still have to rechedule a Christmas party after enough of this dreck melts so we can have guests park on the street.

  13. You DO realize that – having posted this – you’ll see nothing but negative numbers during the month of February, right? 🙂
