  3. Jimbo….. you know how that shit makes my blood boil. I just would like one hit with a baseball bat. Just one. Maybe one more. And one more after that.

  4. Well. That’s far more disturbing than what I had assumed you were referring to before I clicked the link. Still…an asshole’s an asshole’s an asshole.

  5. I guess I’ll never understand losers like these who hate this country. Why don’t they buy a one way ticket to Venezuela? It would solve everyone’s problems.

  6. What gets me about the photos is all the parents standing around with their kids and taking pictures of this, especially when they set the soldier effigy on fire with the burning flag. As a friend of mine said, where is my 30,06 and ammunition when I need it.

Hate the country and teach the kids to hate it as well – a win/win for the LLL scumbags.

  8. You do realize the anarchists were only 100 strong in a march of more than 15,000. I don’t support their actions, but I do support their freedom of speech. Most of the marchers were from local peace groups, including churches, that are committed to non-violence. None of us would consider baseball bats, 30-06’s or knocking a few heads together, just because others see the world from a different viewpoint. Portland doesn’t hate America. We just believe that Peace is Patriotic too.

  10. Bev,

I am a First Amendment absolutist, and I would be the first to defend the rights of those creeps to speak freely (including engaging in jaw-droppingly tasteless conduct intended to communicate). In that regard, I do not believe any of the people in those photos were arrested for exercising their right of free speech (or conduct intended to communicate), so their First Amendment rights remained intact.

I do, however, question whether these are truly “anti-war” rallies, because if they were, I would expect to see good number of people angrily decrying the violence of groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah, Al Qaeda and other terrorist organizations. On the contrary, it seems as if the demonstrators’ vitriol is reserved for the President and the United States.

Like you, I also desire peace, but we differ in that I do not believe that peace purchased with the appeasement of those whose avowed agenda is to kill Americans, including you and me, is a real peace. I prefer to confront those who wish to harm us rather than appease them.
