Farookin’ Pigs!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 7:29 pm

On Sunday, I finally decided that I would resume walking in the morning, given that the most nasty of the cold symptoms has finally gone away. My ears are still plugged up by some sort of head glop (and it is driving me more than a little bit nuts), but I figure that if I waited for that to clear up, my legs might atrophy.

So, with that, I headed out the door, eager to greet the morning, but particularly mindful of my diminished hearing. While walking, I wasn’t thinking of blogging or anything in particular for that matter, but then I came upon a local bus stop and saw THIS DISGUSTING SIGHT.

What made it even more gross was that THIS was a mere ten paces from the filth.

My grandmother (rightly or wrongly) used to housebreak dogs by rubbing their noses in their shit. Maybe that’s what ought to be done to the pigs who made this mess.

Farookin’ swine.

  3. When I lived in Montclair, NJ I used to take the bus to the PATH in Newark. At the bus stop with the big trash cans right there they would drop their glass bottles and papers right where they stood rather than take a step to the trash can. What total pigs!! And that is supposed to be a green and upscale city!! I am with you on this one for sure.

Now I live in NYC and I see them crossing the street eating Big Macs and dropping the papers and trash on the street rather than carrying it for 10 seconds until they finish crossing the street. If you call them on it you almost get punched out and told to mind your own business. It would be so easy to keep the place neat and clean with just a smidgen of effort but those pigs can’t be bothered.

I had a contract in the middle west a few years ago and when a friend visited she could not believe how clean it was. There was almost no trash on the street at all and also almost no graffiti. It made such a difference in how the city looked and how the people took care of it. Such a pleasure to be out there and with almost no effort, just a little care.

  4. Craig —

Yes, I took the pictures with Mr. Cell Phone, but rather than hooking up a cable to my steam-driven computer, I e-mailed the pics to myself and went from there. Necessity (and techno stoooooopidity) is the mother of something or other.

  5. Those photos completely underscore James Q. Wilson’s and George Kelling’s Broken Windows theory.
(You GOTTA teach me how to email photos from my phone, ’cause I still got pix from Tennessee on here, from last July)

  9. “Pigs are cleaner than that….really.”

And they probably have a better aroma. For anyone who’s ever been anywhere NEAR a pig farm, you know what I’m sayin’….

  12. Jim, that is so gross. I could just crack people when I see them drop something. I’ve actually gone up to people who I’ve seen throw (purposefully) something on the ground and say, “oh did you realize you just dropped that?” – usually embarasses the hell out of ’em enough to make them pick it up. Nothing worse than a pig!

  13. Jim:

I’ll try this. Are you still updating the Holabird site? Ron Seachrist is the last posting. I’ve had no luck posting or reading beyond Seachrist’s.

  14. Jim,

    Is Holabird still posting?

  15. Yes, far too many people are filthy rat bastards. Around here they open their car windows and toss the trash on the side of the road. It’s disgusting. I too live in ultra-lib land. I guess it goes to show – once a filthy hippie always a filthy hippie…

  16. Welcome to my neighborhood.
I find dirty diapers amongst other things thrown in the street. If we didn’t have the twice monthly street sweeper, my ‘hood would definitly look like Tia Juana.
Last week I had the pleasure of yelling “Estupida Puta” at the twat that threw her trash in the street. The trash can was just a few yards away.

Assholes. I say, break their kneecaps with baseball bats.

  18. Don’t you hate that shite? I’m a trash Nazi. When I worked at the law firm, I used to go out a couple of times a day to smoke. There’s a trash can at the corner and people would drop their trash three steps from the can. Drove me crazy but usually I would just give them dirty looks. One day I’m standing there and a car full of Hispanic teenagers drive up right next to the farookin trash bin and dump their McD’s wrappers and crap on the street right next to it. I lost it.

I started screaming at the girl and made her get out of the car and pick it up and put it in the trash can. For a minute I thought the whole lot of them were going to jump out of the car and beat me up, but I stood them down. They didn’t want to screw with thiscrazy white old lady.

They drove away shouting a bunch of stuff. I’m pretty sure it was Spanish for crazy effing beeotch, but it felt good to finally say something. After that, I stopped screaming but I always said something to the offenders. Half the time they would pick it up.
