Troubled Bridges over Troubled Waters.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 8:08 pm

A recent study by the Department of Transportation estimates that New Jersey’s bridges need $13.6 BILLION in repairs. Yes that’s a “B” for billion.

Of course the state’s transportation fund is broke, thanks to its having been raided by state politicians for other things.

Let’s add to that the $56 BILLION in unfunded pension liabilities the state faces.

Oh, wait. We still have to add in the $58 BILLION in liability for unfunded medical benefits for current and future state employees.

Let’s do the arithmetic. 13.6 + 56 + 58 = $127.6 BILLION DOLLARS that the state, which is already in dire financial straits, will have to pony up.

Just imagine running a business in this fashion.

Ladies and Gentlemen of both parties: What will it take to convince you that it is time to vote every single elected state senator and representative out of office? Every goddamned one of them.

  1. Jimbo……It is not the living voters of either party you need to convince….it is the dead & fictitious ones who always seem to show up & vote straight Democratic who are deaf to your pleas for common sense but manage to vote in lockstep to the Democratic agenda.

  4. New Jersey could use some alligators.

But hey, at least you’ve got Chunky Pam.

  5. Didn’t a recent report on state spending on road maintenance put New Jersey as the biggest spender per mile of road? Where did all of this money go if none of it went to maintaining bridges?

  6. Even if they are all voted out of office, won’t you only get more dooshbag peeps in office? Youse’ll probably be paying for those bridge repairs into the year 3007. But by then, there won’t be a Garden State Parkway anymore, because wings will sprout out of everyone’s asscracks, and we’ll all be flying to work — no more traffic! Yay! Fun!
