Bacon Vodka.
I saw this recipe at Curmudgeonly & Skeptical. Hell, I like bacon. I like vodka. What’s not to like here? In addition, I figure that, during this election year, vodka will become a staple.
Even though it didn’t work out well for this fellow, I am still all over this one ( I plan to fry the bacon real crispy). I have to buy a mason jar. We don’t put up many preserves (or make corn squeezin’s) at the House by the Parkway.
I’m thinking deviled eggs and bacon vodka.
I’ll keep youse guys posted.
I think vodka may become a staple for more than just this election year. With the way the choices are shaking out, it may be a staple for the next four years. Maybe longer – who knows how long it will take to undo the damage.

Any good Texas recipe starts out with…
“First, fry up a pound of bacon”.
*And you better save the grease or suffer dire consequences!

Lessee: The Bacontini: a couple jiggers of Bacon Vodka, shaken with ice, strained into a cold Martini glass, garnished with a cube of (1) salt pork, or (2) country ham on a toothpick. Mmm-mmm good!

Thanks, but I’ll just have my bacon on the side… really. Heh.

Oh! Deviled Eggs would be a perfect companion to Bacon Vodka.
The problem is keeping the oil out of the vodka. I think I’d try mixing some Vodka, Liquid Smoke, and a hint of maple syrup. A thin orange slice or twist would round out the flavors.
Damn, my tummy’s growling already!

I’m thinking a gallon jug of good pickled eggs would go better than deviled eggs

I just…couldn’t. There is just no way this perversion of vodka will ever travel down my gullet.

I’m thinking bacon Bloody Marys myself. I’m trying to kick the martini habit.

Bacon? Good.
Vodka? Goooooood.
Together? Interesting! I’ll be curious to know how it turns out. I tried the bacon martini and was a bit disappointed, but not so disappointed that I didn’t have three, mind you. It is, after all, bacon and vodka.
