Today’s Laugh/Cry/Shoot Yourself Moment.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 8:20 pm

Here, Peeps, is the Senate Majority Leader trying to explain how the payment of federal income tax is voluntary. If it weren’t so pathetic, his explanation would be positively hilarious.

I suppose what he was trying to explain is that reporting your income is “voluntary,” which is to say that if you held up a bank, you have the opportunity to “voluntarily” report the proceeds of the robbery as income.

How you would one “voluntarily” report such income? Why, by “voluntarily” filing a tax return, of course. Which begs the question, what happens if you had income and don’t “voluntarily” file a tax return?

The answer is that you will be fined and, quite possibly, sent to the slammer.

Only in the snake-filled mind of Harry Reid could such a system be considered to be “voluntary”.

  1. Dear G-d but I think he actually believes his own lies now. Because he’s either a complete non-sentient moron, or the embodiment of evil itself.

    Brrr!

  8. This is why our Senate has about a 10% approval rating. These so called leaders are either idiots, corrupt or pathological liars – or all of the above. I don’t know whether to laugh or puke.

  9. Look around at the snarley morning faces on your bus or subway. 30% of your fellow passengers are fully on board with this guy. Another 20% will admit he’s a moron if you hold a gun to their heads, but believe he (and Nancy and Ted, etc.) are all that stand between the nation and a right-wing apocalypse and are willing to pretend he’s a fully sentient entity.

Isn’t that the scarey part? People vote for these jacktards.

  11. mutha fukka dodged the question with dim-a-crit double speak…I have contended for yeas that I have more respect for a sumbitch with a gun to my head and his hand in my wallet than I do a sumbitch like Reid who uses laws to rob me..at least the armed robber makes no claims to being honest as Reid and his band of merry men do

  13. It is really quite simple…..if you choose to voluntarily not pay Income Tax, the government can voluntarily choose to arrest you, seize your assests & sell them……Then voluntarily assign you to an period of incarceration in one of the Federal Prisons. How more voluntary can you get?

  14. From the IRS Website:

“Illegal income. Illegal income, such as money from dealing illegal drugs, must be included in your income on Form 1040, line 21, or on Schedule C or Schedule C-EZ (Form 1040) if from your self-employment activity.”
