Gotta Make this Fast.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 8:58 pm

Yesterday I experienced serious computer problems. Damned thing shut down and would not start. Windows “automatic fixes” didn’t fix anything. I thought my buddy Mike, the computer maven, had it fixed, but now the thing shuts down and may or may not re-start, depending on its “mood.” Looks like more work needs to be done.

Point is, if I disappear, don’t take it personally. It is just a case of the Cyber Gods dropping a major turd in my punchbowl.

Farookin’ computer.

  2. I was wigging out last night, my puter went haywire, kept scrolling to the bottom every web page, then bouncing up and down. I couldn’t control the mouse. I reset it and it did all sorts of crazy things while it was trying to reboot. I finally noticed that the space bar was stuck in the down position. Scared the crap out of me for a few minutes there. (Although, I have to admit, the first thought I had was “Good, now I can go buy a Mac…”).

  3. One time my dog’s nose was resting ever-so-slightly on the lower right edge of the keyboard and the computer started doing all kinda weirdass shit. Look carefully. If there is a domestic animal on your keyboard, all you have to do is remove the domestic animal from your keyboard.

  4. Uh – Oh…

Damn Jimbo, you have as many problems with computers as I do with travel. Although it does sound like more of a hardware problem than software – not that it makes a difference if you can’t get online.

Hope you get it fixed fast or I foresee the Wiseass Jooette photoshopping the farookin’ great hair on ever more interesting things in your absence.

  5. dogette,
the worst was when I unknowingly dropped a staple in the keyboard of an old AT&T pc I had years ago. Every time I’d hit a key, it would bounce around and short out on the PC board, causing all sorts of mayhem. Took a while to figure that one out, but only after inventing several new computer oriented oaths…

  7. Hairboy, I reject this computer tsures you are having…you better get Mike the Computer Maven to address it, post haste, since I don’t like to have to wait.

In the meantime, don’t be sad…I found what is tantamount to the Holy Grail: a joke about geriatric peeps AND New Jersey, all rolled into one…what could be more perfect to cheer you up as you are bravely reduced to conking out on Mr. Recliner instead of blogging, oy, poor nebech, nishtu gedacht…gevaldikeh zach!? This should be the worst of your troubles in life.

    Here goes:

A little old man, and a little old lady who was hard of hearing, went for a drive one Sunday afternoon and after pulling onto the freeway a policeman pulled them over. “Can I see your drivers license?” the policeman asked the old man. “What, what did he say?” asked the old lady. “He said he wanted to see my drivers license.” replied the old man. “I see you’re from Monmouth, NJ,” observed the policeman. “What, what did he say?” asked the old lady. “Said he sees we’re from Monmouth, NJ,” replied the old man. “I use to date a girl from Monmouth,” shared the policeman. “Worst piece of ass I ever had!” “What, what did he say?” asked the old lady. “Said he thinks he knows you,” replied the old man.
