Ashamed.

I have endured the savaging of Sarah Palin and her family by left-wing bloggers and the MSM for a couple days now. It has sickened me.

If you want to question her experience or lack thereof, fair game.

If you want to question her record, fair game.

If you want to question her past associations, that’s fair game too, as I believe past associations are relevant, even though questioning such things about Senator Obama is claimed to be charging him with “guilt by association.”

But, probing into the contents of Governor Palin’s womb, her “reckless” pre-natal behavior, her decision regarding the birth of a child, or piling on her seventeen-year old daughter is just plain disgusting.

Look, this is just a silly blog, and what I think doesn’t matter. Moreover, I have no desire to feed trolls or to argue online with strangers (If I wanted to do that, I could do it in a saloon and enjoy a beer at the same time). I’ve decided that the one concrete thing I can do to combat the lunacy of the past few days is to make a donation to the McCain campaign.

So, that’s what I did.

Maybe I’ll be back tomorrow, when I feel slightly less ashamed of what so many Americans have become.

  1. Bravo! I agree with you 100%.

Right now, the Palin family are handling a very sensitive situation with dignity and I applaud their strength and family unity.

  2. This is nothing new, Jimbo.

When BHO ran for state senate, all of the other candidates somehow ended up being disqualified.

When BHO ran for US Senate, his Republican opponent decided to drop out of the race because of damaging allegations about his sex life. He was replaced by another Republican with no connection to the state of Illinois, and BHO won by a wide margin.

So is it any surprise that the same tactics, the politics of personal destruction, are being used again?

  3. I am glad to be on the same side as a voice of reason…there seems to be so little of that lately. You are one of the good guys and, “silly blog” though it may be, you’ve managed to earn shitloads of respect from peeps because of your tempered calm and composed clarity.

Both sides of this Sarah Palin-obsessed phase of the national political screaming match we’ve all been sucked into lately could learn a little from your silly blog. And now, the president is about to speak so I must take my leave.

I am the Wiseass Jooette and I approve this message.

  4. Agreed!

I’m watching Fred Thompson’s speech. WOW!

You’re idea of giving to McCain in order to combat the disgusting display of vultures looking for meat is a wonderful one! I think I might do the same. Two people from Jersey giving to a Republican? Heh.

  5. Hey, Jimbo. I LOVE this silly blog. You make me laugh out loud at the utter ubsurdity of the lefties!

This is starting to feel like the “Paul Wellstone Funeral Moment” when the dimocraps turned Paul’s funeral into a political rally…and the people voted against them the following Tuesday.

    F*cktards, all of them.

They are panicked and this is the only thing they think will stop Sarah. Me thinks they don’t know what the hell they are dealing with!

My wife and I contributed to McCain’s campaign last Saturday. First time in my life that I have ever contributed to a political campaign. My wife is flipping triple somersaults over McCain’s pick for Sarah as VP. So am I because I think she has done incredible things for Alaska and I like her no-nonsense approach to governing.

  7. George,Fred and Joe did good tonight. Sarah is going to light em up tomorrow night. She has a reason for an 80% approval rating in Alaska and they can’t take that away. Stand by……………

  11. Jimbo……

I have been a member of the RNC for 10 years & donated every year except this year. I wrote to the RNC & said not another dime until I see something which suggests to me the Republican party is becoming proactive & stops following the Democratic line of liberalism. I think they finally have done it , I am also donating, nmaybe GWB`S meto-ism approach is finally over.

  12. I love your “silly blog” too. Hope you’re feeling a bit better about things today. 🙂 And yes, I’ve been feeling the same way for the last few days. I have to figure out how to get around all the crap so I don’t have it pounding on me and annoying me. LOL.

  14. The hypocrisy of the media and the left wing continues to astound me..but what is more astounding is the lack of intelligence of voters who apparently cannot fathom that Obama is all hat and no cows.

  15. As vice president and president of the senate,Sarah should preside with her M-16 and field dress democraps.

  17. Things I did for the first time this week:

    – read Daily Kos
    – wrote to the Washington Post demanding a correction
    – donated to a campaign
    – stuck a bumper sticker on my car

    Thanks, Sara!

  18. I hope you are watching her right now, Jimbo. I frickin’ LOVE HER.

    I’m inspired.

Listen to me, my friend, as a female in the corporate world, having chosen a field that is predominantly white male, and having endured things that would make you want to spit… this is not new to her. It is ugly, it is not right… but when you have been around in the business world, for 20 years, you hear crap like this. She will come out on top. Whether they win or not (I hope they do), she will come out on top.

  19. I’m watching now. She’s awesome! Smart, funny, decisive. Great speech!

  20. I only had time to watch starting with Mr. Giuliani tonight (who had some excellent FACTUAL things to say, to which the news anchor said “Mr. Giuliani was KIDDING, he was JOKING that Barack Obama’s rise to power could only happen in the USA.” Having watched the speech, I recall Mr. G clarifying right after that sentence with “No, really, I’m serious.” or something like that. Damn TV news anchors are such hosebags. Sarah Palin had some excellent things to say… now bracing myself for the talking heads to dissect her comments and “put them in context.”

  21. Sarah delivered the best damn speech I have heard since Zell Miller four years ago. HOT DAMN! HOT DAMN! It all feels so surrealistic. My wife cried tears of joy and my two daughters had an opportunity to watch a real woman and be truly inspired!!! AND, I REALLY appreciate how a classy woman can deliver an outstanding speech in a SKIRT…not a f*cking UGLY pantsuit! GO SARAH!

    Comment by Lee — September 4, 2008 @ 1:35 am

  22. man, she is one super lady though. that speech was incredible.

i just saw ferraro dog her for letting her kids stay up that late….to see mommy nominated vice president of the USA? the left’s attacks are so inane at this point, i’m actually shocked they aren’t embarrassed of their idiocy.
