The Presidential Debate.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 6:03 pm

I’ve been thinking about tonight’s upcoming presidential debate media-driven theatrical event. I have been following the election closely since the damned primaries, and I have already decided how I’m going to vote. While tonight’s event may possibly be useful for those people who just now are beginning to pay attention to the election, nothing either candidate will say this evening will change my mind.

If you have been following this process all along and still claim to be undecided, I question your honesty, I question your intelligence, and I sure as hell wouldn’t want to be the waiter taking your dinner order.

For my part, watching the debate can only serve to make me angry, and my anger cup runneth over at the moment. I, therefore, plan to take a pass.

That is all.

  2. I am not cursing the darkness. I’m lighting a match.

Wait. Is cursing the darkness a racist term? Shit. Who can tell anymore?

  3. Don’t think I can take watching either. I’ll probably go to lucianne or lgf to read the comments as others with a stronger stomach watch. The humor makes it easier to take.

  4. I never watch these “debates” – they aren’t debates at all… only 2 pols getting up and spouting views about whatever enters their heads when it’s their turn to talk. And worst of all, not even doing it well (you would think, being a politician, they would take the time to learn to be better speakers…).

Nope. I wait til it’s all over, then hit Stephen Green’s drunk blogging at PJM. THAT is the only way to “watch” the debate. No annoying irritation at the total irrelevance of it all. No listening to idiocies. No getting angry at the incredible lack of content.

Like you – I know who I will vote for. These circuses don’t do a thing for me. But Stephen makes me laugh and that makes the entire thing worth reading.

  6. I have a new DVD of Spongebob that I figure will be just as informative and many times more entertaining.
If I have to look at that assnugget spouting about Hope and Change, I’ll be needing to buy a new television tomorrow.

  9. OK, I’ve had enough, I’m back. Nice to see McCain standing his ground, but as Jimbo said… none of it is new to me. Plus, I’m voting for Gort… or maybe Klaatu…

  10. Don’t feel pregnant, Jimbo — you, me, and probably 90+ percent of the rest of America have about had it with the whole thing.
