Overheard in a Jersey Restaurant.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 10:20 pm

Yesterday, as I was walking down the stairs to the men’s room, I passed a group of three women who had exited the ladies’ room and who were walking up the stairs. One of the women said to the others, “He didn’t mean it that way. He just said that she looked like an ugly little monkey.”

I must assume that the fellow the woman was referring to was a genuine Nuance Meister.

Oh, now that I’ve mentioned it, does anyone know whether the female drive to pee in groups is some sort of hard-wired genetic thing? You know, like elaborate nest building behavior or swallows returning to Capistrano?

  1. Believe it or not, I went to the bathroom all by myself THREE times Friday night.

  2. Could it be that women feel as though they are prey while in public and travel in herds for protection?

My question is this…why is the Alpha female who protects the herd always the one with the nastiest personality?

  3. Because no one wants to mess with a nasty personality – ergo, the troop is protected!

however, I prefer to keep my nasty temprament for myself and go to the bathroom by myself!

  4. When I was young, I had a friend who would make a comment on this tendency; a few times when we double-dated, he’d wait for our dates to return, then look to me and ask, “Social piss?”

Ah, the good old days, when we were young and stupid.

  5. Safety in numbers, and “social pissing” are a good part of the mix, and then there’s the group who want to discuss their take on what’s happening at the table and what one can do to move it along in approved directions.

    Like Bogie, I prefer privacy.
