May We Have A Drum Roll, Please?

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 9:37 pm

Today is primary day in New Jersey for both parties. Hang on to your hats. Here are the winners (as fearlessly predicted by the New Jersey Network News Team):

Candidates for President:

Democrat: John Kerry
Republican: George W. Bush

Take a few cleansing breaths, because I know that was a shocker.

George Bush ran unopposed, but John Kerry (at last count with 92% of the vote) withstood a withering challenge from Dennis Kuchinich, who at last count had a couple hundred votes, Lyndon La Rouche (a well-known madman), and some guy from Newark named George Ballard, whose family and friends (some of them, anyway) turned out.

In fact, in my district, the ONLY candidate that was “opposed” for any office was John Kerry.

It was comical watching the New Jersey Network News Team try to turn this into something other than a huge yawn.

  1. Our primary is today, also.

Probably the most-watched race is the 4-way Republican gubernatorial primary. The two top contenders were slinging mud at each other hot and heavy, which may pave the way for one of the others to get into the action.

Plus, the city has a contentious bond issue on the ballot, so it should be an interesting evening.

  2. I’m quite disappointed with your lack of coverage concerning the only candidate with a substantive message. “Keep the Dream Alive!” “Remember who brought you to the Party!”

Since I know you don’t give a flip about what color he is, I’m assuming it’s hair envy.

  3. That guy wasn’t on the ballot in Jersey. I guess that he will have to keep the dream alive elsewhere for the moment.
