Jon’s Party.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 9:40 pm

By now, you have probably read about or heard about the little get together that Jon Bon Jovi hosted at his 17,600 square foot mansion humble abode in New Jersey to raise money for John Kerry. I thought I would share an e-mail I received today from a very good friend who lives, geographically, not very far from Bon Jovi’s house, but economically, light years away.

At Jon Bon Jovi’s Middletown mansion on the Navesink river at which 60 people paid $25K a couple to be in the house and 300 paid $1K to be in a tent on the patio, John Kerry said, “The middle class is going backward, working harder, two or three jobs…while people at the top are doing better….”

While he was sipping wine with his “middle class buds” I was stuck in traffic coming home from actually working all day and missing an appointment due to that traffic which was likely the result of all those middle class people taking off from their many jobs to attend his soiree.

Bon Jovi raised approximately $1 million for Kerry, bringing the total Kerry raised in New Jersey to about $4 million to add to his $120 million. Thank God, or Theresa might have had to dip into her $500 million.

John Heinz must be turning over in his grave.

I have to assume that my invitation was lost in the mail.

  1. CRICKEY!! I remember the GSP being shutdown for two hours on a Friday night during rush hour in the summer when BonJovi did the same thing for Gore. If history repeats itself perhaps Kerry will be wishing that he could count chads!!

I think it is really obnoxious to shut the GSP down for these Yahoos!! I mean they don’t shut it down when people are being rushed to the hospital or cops need to get to a call. Why should it be shutdown for this Maroon?

I swore after the Gore shutdown I would never buy another BonJovi CD again – & I have kept that promise. Interesting enough I was never a huge Boss fan but after 9/11 & his CD The Rising my attitude changed. Why can’t Bon Jovi follow his lead instead of giving money to someone who so obviously does not need it?

    Ok, off my soapbox.

On a final note – Let’s go Bush/Cheney for four more!!

  2. Kerry then went on to Atlantic City for a soundbite session where he made the following “promises” with a straight face:

He would lower taxes for 98% of Americans.

He would make sure everyone would have health insurance, without costs.

He would lower the costs of all prescription drugs for everyone.

He would make friends with the entire world.

He would stop Doctors from overcharging.

Where does this rube think he is? Arkansas,Disney Land ????

    Future Kerry “promises”:

    No traffic on the Parkway

    Free peanuts at sporting events

He will let out Joan Rivers’ face

He will merge Al Queda with the Vienna Boys Choir

His wife will give beauty tips to the Afghan Rebels

    No taxes on Thursdays

Everyone over 65 on Social Security will get a free home visit from Wayne Newton

    Free Botox

  3. A Blogx Tale

Everything feels so empty, he thought. Looking over at his wife, William was struck with the idea of how much he’d missed her lately. They just weren’t connecting as a couple, on any level. “So, does it still bend to…

  4. So? Cheney shut down the core of KC so that he could add to GWB’s $240 million pile — not that it will help them any.

Complaining about business-as-usual plus Kerry having half what Bush does — don’t act any stupider than you need to.

  5. Scorpio,

I would not think of visiting your site and insulting you personally, even if I disagree with what you had to say. If you cannot comport yourself with something resembling common courtesy, please go elsewhere.

    Thank you.

  6. OK, an apology for using the word “stupid”.

How about “astonishing” — does that work?

  13. I was at his house back in 88..he lived in Rumson then. I am sure he upgraded by now to even a larger place..but that place was nice! I also found Alec’s house the same day in Colts Neck, and Richie’s house.

  14. I just saw that Jon Bon Jovi piece on Oprah the other night. I never knew the guy gave that much. At least he’s trying. I’m not much into politics, but if I could raise or give 1 million to get “W” out of there, I’d do it. 100,000,000 albums sold is a tune that I wouldn’t mind writing and humming to at any stage of my life.

  16. I am a New Mexico State Monument Ranger at the Lincoln State Monument in Lincoln, New Mexico. This is the home of the Lincoln County War from 1878-1879, where Billy the Kid & Pat Garrett were. We would like to extend an invitation for Jon to please come visit us as he wrote the songs Billy get your guns & Blaze of Glory. His visit would not be known to the public as it would be a private visit. We are currently producing a new video for the tourists who come here. A ten minute video for them to watch which will give them some insight to the Lincoln County War & the lives of Billy the Kid & Pat Garrett. We would love for Jon to visit whenever he can. Fly privately from home to the Sierra Blanca regional airport in Ruidoso, N.M., & from there it is a 12 mile drive to Lincoln. Very Respectfully, Ed Smith. Please contact me. Thank You so very much.

  26. Hi there, no one made a comment in a while, so I hope people are still reading this. My girlfriend and myself are going to Bon Jovi’s concert in New Jersey next month. We are travelling from Scotland, we’ve been to a few concerts and they have all been fantastic but to hear him in New Jersey is my girlfriends dream, and to be honest Im looking forward to it. The thing is as this has been one of her life time ambitions and I managed to get tix on net I have decided to propose to her on the trip. Would love to be able to contact Jon himself to say. The song “summer time” off his new album really sums up our relationship and you would think he knew us when he wrote the words. Guess I just would like to say – if anyone has Jon’s address in New Jersey could they email me it please. No hoaxs or time wasters please. Would love to take her to see his house and propose there, or at the concert. But would love to send him a thank you card. Anyone? My email is gquayle_007@hotmail.com Thank you.
