Free-Floating Case of the Ass.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim @ 10:05 pm

Yes, Peeps, at the moment I am harboring a Free-Floating Case of the Ass. Every farookin’ thing seems to be getting on my last nerve. I’ve suffered this malady before, and, much as it was the last time, I’m having difficulty pinpointing exactly what is causing it. The best I can do is tick off a few things that might play a role:

The media slobberfest over Ted Kennedy.

We have Nancy Pelosi, as Joan described it so perfectly, “dragging dead Teddy through the political streets like some horrid war trophy.” KennedyCare! KennedyCare! Good grief.

It’s no problemo (or, at worst, a only a minor problemo) if Tim Geithner and Charlie Rangel don’t pay their taxes, while Tim Geithner’s IRS screws everyone else by enforcing laws written by Charlie Rangel.

Sandy Berger never went to goddamned jail for stealing documents from the National Archives.

The Senate “investigation” cleared Chris Dodd of any wrongdoing, and the Justice Department has decided to close down a grand jury investigation of Bill Richardson. I’m guessing no one asked Hillary about that.

Elected officials are referring to American people exercising their First Amendment rights as swastika carriers, members of unruly mobs, and much worse.

No one in his or her right mind would now work as an interrogator for the CIA, knowing that a new administration may turn the Justice Department loose on you.

We have at least 3+ more years to endure The One and his pack of rogues.

Most of television remains a “vast wasteland.”

Network news is a pathetic joke.

Summer is almost over.

Feh!

That is all.

Go ahead Nancy, run with it.

  2. Hairboy, I think you need to make some special “me time” — srsly. Draw a nice hot bath, burn a little incense, aromatherapy, some candles, take a good book or the funny pages in with you…I worry for you, dooshbag. Try to insulate yourself from the MSM…it’s how I keep my BP stabilized.

  3. The HuffPo has a piece suggesting MJK [Mary Jo Kopechne – ed.] might have felt it was worth it. Now I’ve caught the ass, too.

However, I have the remedy for all this. A little James Taylor moment for you. . . and all of us.

  4. Sounds like plenty to have a case of the Ass about, to me.

But, does anyone actually say, “Feh!”?

    😉

  5. But, does anyone actually say, “Feh!”?

Only in Brooklyn, only in Brooklyn. 🙂 It’s only one syllable so it’s easy. (hides from Erica)

  7. Apparently, Jerry, peeps also say “Feh!” in Jersey, because they obviously have Brooklyn envy. I would too. It’s a great place to be!

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!! That’s why we loves ya so much….a great sense of humor! 😉 Always good for a laugh. 🙂

  9. If any of you had ever done 1/100th of the amount of good that Sen. Ted Kennedy has done for the people of this country and the whole world, then the world would be a much better place. As it is, what we have here is a very negative-thinking, arrogant, self-righteous loser with a bunch of his like-minded friends that seem to have nothing better to do than to deride a family that has always put public service at the top of their To Do list. And by the way, if Elected officials are referring to American people exercising their First Amendment rights as swastika carriers, members of unruly mobs, and much worse, it’s probably because they’re carrying swastika signs and guns, and spewing the hate-filled venom that they’ve heard spouted on Faux News.

  10. Dear Reality Chick,

This “negative-thinking, arrogant, self-righteous loser” thanks you for the laugh.

I figure you’re young (too young to know much about the Kennedys) and stupid. The young part I can overlook, but you really should work on the stupid part.

  11. Dear Jimbo,

“Young” is eventually overcome, but stupid goes bone deep, and can’t very often be fixed.

  13. Hi. I used to be a young idealist like Ms. Reality Chick (in need of a Reality Check?), bitched people I didn’t know out without knowing shit…hell, when I was a young liberal, who voted Democrat because my parents and whole family did, I never even heard of Mary Jo Kopechne, and couldn’t tell you where Chappaquiddick Island was on the map. I was a sad, unenlightened creature.

Maybe there’s hope. You can fix stupid (at least the intellectual kind…not all stupids are fixable)…you can open a book and you can listen to opinions that may not necessarily jive with your own.

Re: “…a family that has always put public service at the top of their To Do list?…” GMAFB. Try: a family that has always put excessive drinking (not that there’s anything wrong with that), perennial philandering, crime (i.e. JFK using the Mafia to try to kill Castro…albeit, that it consequentialism, since the end would have justified the means), and screwing ambitious Americans (expecting the rich, who are satisfied with their health care, to shoulder the cost of Universal Health Care) at the top of their To Do list.

They were pretty folks to look at, the Kennedys, and wonderful orators, but beneath the surface of their exteriors they were as hideous and sinister as an entire army of Emperor Palpatines. They were not in public office to serve their constituents so much as they were in public office to serve themselves. Fought for the little guy, my eye.

  15. Hello Jimbo & friends,
Imagine my delight when I checked back and found your amusing response(s). Thank you sooooo much for the “young” remark; that was very kind of you. Unfortunately, I’m probably considerably older than you or any of your very short-sighted friends. As for the stupid part, well, that may very well be, as I seem to be wasting more time on this site. By the way, the Mensa people would probably think me stupid as well, since I fell 2 points short of joining their group, but I would imagine that is considerably higher than you or any of your double-digit IQ’d friends. And yes, I’m old enough to know all about the Kennedys and their very-human faults (let any of you without sin cast the first stone), but I also know about the very loving, giving spirit of their clan and how lucky we as a nation have been to have them in our midst. Anybody who doesn’t know THAT is a great deal more stupid than you seem to think I am. By the way, I forgot to mention in my initial comment that there was one of your original rants that I actually agree with: that most of TV is a vast wasteland (especially if you’re talking about the Faux News network, which I’m sure you and your devoted group of cronies follow very closely). Respond to this or not, that’s up to you, but it won’t matter to me at all because I sure don’t plan to waste any more of my time here, and if you had any real sense, you would stop wasting your time here, too, and go out and find yourself a REAL life.

  16. Reality chick – 2 points short of mensa and 2 tacos shy of a combo plate.

I fear with more and more Americans thinking like Reality Chick our collective IQ diminishes with each day.

Oh and I see you are on the DNC “talking points” memo list with your tired and played out “Faux News” silliness. I’ll bet you never miss that douchebag blowhard Olby each night as you IM your BFFL’s about his brilliant commentary attacking right wing extremists and how it is all Bush’s fault.

    Comment by RobbieRob — August 29, 2009 @ 1:10 pm

  17. Well, I guess that settles it! We think she’s stupid and Mensa thinks she’s stupid too. We have a quorum.

    Comment by Dan — August 29, 2009 @ 2:07 pm

  18. Reality Chick….You happened to display one of the most obvious Liberal ploys to attempt to reach the high ground when losing a debate…that is to pat yourself on the back & tell us how smart you are.
There are any number of dis-functional members in Mensa who are multi-degreed but unable to secure employment or fend for themselves who are relegated to live with Mommy & Daddy. So!……How`s the folk`s.

  22. Just another reminder to all you Jersey and Staten Island peeps (or, what the hell, even peeps from Brooklyn), there is a Tea Party in Perth Amboy on Saturday, September 12th starting at 2PM. I’ll be doing the “audio” work that day and we’d love for as many people as possible to stop by and show their support. Many speakers will be present to address the crowds expected to attend. Location is in front of historic city hall at Market Street and High Street, at the “circle”. Then, it’s off to Washington DC on September 12th!

  23. Correction on the Perth Amboy Tea Party date (fat fingers!). It’s on Saturday, the 5th!!
